Kimchi Jar

I have been doing a bit of work with Yukata recently and they have sent me a new product, that is currently available in Sainsburys.  it retails at £2.75. It is Korean Kimchi, and I thought it was great.

Its fermented cabbage in a rather spicy sauce.  When I received it I did wonder what I was going to do with it and it wasnt something I had ever come across before, so I decided as I was on my C9 cleanse at the time, to add it as a topping to my Wild Atlantic Prawn salad that I was taking to a birthday picnic Not only did it spice up my dish, the spice that was in it, made the prawns taste sweeter and the fermented juice was drizzled over making a healthy salad dressing.  It was absolutely delicious.

I wanted to be a bit more adventurous with it and have some veg left over in the fridge and some king prawns in the freezer so one day for lunch I fried up some king prawns in garlic and coconut oil and then when they were pink (cooked) I added in some Yukata Korean Kimchi to the mixture and served with a simple salad The sauce in the kimchi flavoured the prawns really nicely and gave some spice to the dish.

Both of these dishes were amazing and I have had lots of people asking where I got the Kimchi.  Its fermented cabbage and although this doesnt sound very nice, the flavour that it has is fantastic, its definitely something we will be trying again in this house.
