Meal Planning Monday – 27th July 2015

Meal Planning Monday

This week as our meal plan for part of the Meal Planning Monday linky, here is our plan:

Monday – Meatloaf – I did the shopping in Aldi last week and they do a fab frozen meatloaf in tomato sauce.

Tuesday – Chicken in a bag – this sounds so wrong but it’s so tasty. It’s by Maggi and you put in 4 chicken breasts to a bag, put in the seasoning & seal it. We have garlic chicken this week and it’s so tasty.

Wednesday – ragu – this is a staple and I didn’t have any white wine so this time I made it with red and it is so much richer. Love it!

Thursday – Shepherd’s pie – easy weeknight meal that the boys will love too!

Friday – Chicken Curry – We have lots of Chilipapas sachets in the house and they are so easy to make and very tasty. The spice mix is just right!

Weekend – Pork Stir Fry with Green Beans – This is a bit fiddly to make which is why I’ve left it for The weekend. That said the flavour of this dish is amazing even if it does smell like wet dogs when you are
cooking it.

And that’s us for this week. If you have any suggestions on other things we should try, comment below and let us know, I love hearing what other people have it gives me real inspiration.

Meal Planning Monday – 15th June 2015

Meal Planning Monday

Last week was a busy one what with Grim’s 40th and Buddy’s 6th birthdays. So this week is get back on track, healthy(ish) food. No junk! No drinking!

This week as our meal plan for part of the Meal Planning Monday linky, here is our plan:

Chilli baked potatoes – Monday is swimming so again something easy. I’ll make some chilli up for the boys to have tomorrow and we’ll have it on top of baked potatoes with sour cream and grated cheese.

Chicken Curry – we took friend’s advice and got ourself a delivery from Muscle Foods. Most of the stuff has been great and the amount of chicken you get for the deal is amazing. So we’re having one of the Schwartz curry sauces.

Steak with mustard mash – Grim did our shopping this week in Aldi. He was really impressed with the quality of the food for the amount he spent. So he got some peppered steaks and we’ll this with asparagus and mustard mash. Absolutely fab!

M&S meal – we had a voucher for M&S so we used it for some lovely food. We got some nice meals for Wednesdays when Grim has band and has to be out the door almost as soon as we get home :)

Chorizo burgers & chips – we got these from M&S recently and will serve them in brioche buns (my new favourite!)

And that’s us for this week. If you have any suggestions on other things we should try, comment below and let us know, I love hearing what other people have it gives me real inspiration.

Meal Planning Monday – 14th April 2013

Meal Planning Monday

Sorry we’ve been a bit lazy with the blog for the past two weeks, we’ve just had so much on, so this is me just getting round to my Meal Planning Monday. This week we are seriously feeling the pinch with our new revised budget based on my three days working / three days childcare. So here goes:

Monday – Fish curry

Tuesday – Homemade burgers and chips

Wednesday – Spicy macaroni cheese and salad

Thursday – Haddock chowder

Friday – Tuna pasta

Saturday – Nonno Guiseppe’s special ragu recipe

Sunday – Roast Beef

I know I said we are feeling the pinch, but Sunday is special as my Mom is over visiting from Italy so we’ll have a nice homecooked meal to remind her what she is missing.

Just as an aside we are making chicken caesar salad with ciabatta croutons on Saturday for lunch, a great Jamie Oliver recipe that I made about six years ago and it really is the business. Hope Mom likes it too!!

See what everyone else is planning over at Mrs M

Meal Planning Monday

Last week I was bad again, I did my meal planning but G Man decided he didn’t fancy what we had one night and then I started to feel ill from Tuesday. Turns out it was a chest infection and after visiting out of hours surgery yesterday, I now have antibiotics and feeling a bit better today. At 38+5wks pregnant, I could do without Buddy & I being ill. Oh and wait for it, G Man now has it, so I’ve man flu to look forward to as well 😉

Monday -Tonight we are using up some pasta things, I have pregnant Jools pasta sauce in the freezer and G Man has got a four cheese sauce that he didn’t realise had blue cheese in it (doh!)

Tuesday – Scallops & Chorizo – This combination is stunning and we are using our scallops from  Delish Fish we’ll serve it with paprika potato wedges.

Wednesday – We are taking part in the Fish is the Dish campaign and last week we received some fish from The Saucy Fish Company (Blog out tomorrow) we had the Cod in piri piri sauce last week so it’s Sea Bass this week. Very much looking forward to this.

Thursday – Smoked mackerel pate on baked potato with an apple & cumin salad

Friday – Kedgeree – The smoked haddock from Delish Fish is a firm favourite with anyone who tries it!

Saturday – Chicken & bacon pie

Sunday – Roast Chicken and the trimmings, we made this a couple of weeks ago and used the recipe from Karen at Lavender & Lovage for our Yorkshire puddings and they were brilliant. Thanks Karen!

I’ll update you with recipes of interest during the week.

And of course I’ll be using all of my fabulous Pampered Chef Products. I have my own website where you can buy what you like visit it here.

Meal Planning Monday

I haven’t done my shopping or my list for this week as I’ve not got myself together yet, so I’ve looked in the freezer and the cupboards and this is the plan for meals this week. I still haven’t even thought about my batch cooking for when baby come, so if you have any suggestions then please comment below, I need things that I can either cook or slow cook just now to freeze!

Monday -Pepperoni Pizza – I bought a rectangle stone from Pampered Chef recently and it makes the base so crispy, so we’ll have this tonight with rocket over the top!

Tuesday – fresh pasta (shop bought, do you know I’ve never made my own, I’d love to get a pasta maker, but until I try it at someone else’s abode think it would be something I’d get, try and then leave in the back of my cupboard somewhere) with a nice tomato & chilli sauce – I’ll rustle this up.

Wednesday – Kedgeree – The smoked haddock from Delish Fish is a firm favourite with anyone who tries it!

Thursday – Chicken enchiladas

Friday – Pregnant Jools Pasta – This has to be my favourite dish next to kedgeree right now. Again from Jamie Oliver’s 30 minute meals.

Saturday – Spaghetti bolognese, we will make this in the Pampered Chef deep covered baker which is much like a slow cooker in terms of results but it cooks in half the time. My all time favourite piece of Pampered Chef kit! You just stick in everything raw (frozen if you are like me and forget to take the mince out of the freezer) and it still comes out a scrummy dish.

Sunday – Salmon en croute

I’ll update you with recipes of interest during the week.

And of course I’ll be using all of my fabulous Pampered Chef Products. I have my own website where you can buy what you like visit it here.

Meal Planning Monday

Again this week we did our shopping and didn’t have a delivery, but I know that this is dangerous because we overspent by £20 so I know that I benefit from the online shopping rather than being swayed by the promotions on offer. Lesson learned :-)

This week we are having a few left overs & using up things from the freezer as I really need to batch cook for this baby (due in 3 weeks) and I’ve done nothing!

Monday – Fish pie – made with smoked whiting & coley, it is delicious.

Tuesday – Chicken supreme. This was a staple as I was growing up, no idea where my mum got it from, but it’s a tasty way to use up chicken if you’ve had a roast.

Wednesday – Cod & Chips – We got Cod recently in our Delish Fish order. The fish comes direct from Peterhead market and we are going to make it with Guinness to do a St Patrick’s Day post for the Fish is the dish campaign. (Didn’t get round to this last week!)

Thursday – G Man has band so I need something mega easy so we’ll be making pepperoni pizza and as Buddy has a severe aversion (makes himself sick) to cheese, he will get scampi tonight.

Friday – Pregnant Jools Pasta – This has to be my favourite dish next to kedgeree right now. Again from Jamie Oliver’s 30 minute meals.

Saturday – Chicken Pie tonight, this is an adapted version of one we saw a while back in Good to Know Recipes.

Sunday – It’s kedgeree this evening as it’s easy and everyone will eat this. Happy days.

I’ll update you with recipes of interest during the week.

And of course I’ll be using all of my fabulous Pampered Chef Products. I have my own website where you can buy what you like visit it here.

Meal Planning Monday 5th March 2012

Wow, Monday seemed to fly by and after pretending to be the domestic goddess, I made scones, shortbread and sourdough bread with Buddy. We even took the Sainsbury’s order for the week as we had a voucher for £15 if we spent £75. Out of all of the recent shopping deliveries I have to say this is the one that felt best value for money and the produce was good with good dates.

Here is our meal plan for this week:

Monday – Chicken Biryani using the Schwartz sachets, it was absolutely delicious.

Tuesday – We received some really nice products from Macsween, so we plan to have this and let you know how we get on with the new microwaveable products. We are going to have it in baked potatoes as a bit of a change.

Wednesday – Prawn stir fry.

Thursday –Spaghetti Bolognese – This is one of G Man’s favourites, so I will make it for him coming in from band.

Friday – As it’s National pie week, we will be celebrating with fish pie on Friday.

Saturday – I am hopeful that my vegetarian friend is still coming to tea so we are having veggie chilli with tapas to start. looking forward to it.

Sunday – In contrast to our dinner on Sat we are having roast beef with all the trimmings. yum yum looking forward to it already.

I’ll update you with recipes of interest during the week.

And of course I’ll be using all of my fabulous Pampered Chef Products. I have my own website where you can buy what you like visit it here.

Meal Planning Monday 27th February 2012

We bit the bullet and did our own shopping this week instead of getting a delivery and it was great, I got everything we needed with dates to suit our weekly meal plan. Last week we were naughty and totally deviated from the plans so this week we need to be right back on track. After the cinema outing that cost us nearly £60 we need to get this budget back on track!

Monday – Steak Ciabatta and crushed new potatoes from Jamie Oliver’s 30 minute meals

Tuesday – Pepperoni pizza – I can’t wait to try this out, our enchilada pizza was such a success I’ve been asked by G Man to put this on the planner.

Wednesday – Cod & Chips – we got our Delish Fish order last week direct from Peterhead and we are going to make it with Guinness to do a St Patrick’s Day post for the Fish is the dish campaign.

Thursday – Haggis – G Man goes out to band tonight so only has 20 minutes in the house before he heads out, so thought this was a good night to try out the microwave haggis courtesy of Macsween Haggis.

Friday – Pregnant Jools Pasta – This has to be my favourite dish next to kedgeree right now. Again from Jamie Oliver’s 30 minute meals.

Saturday – Mackerel pate baked potatoes – Making sure we are still getting our Omega-3

Sunday – Baked salmon in chilli sauce with sautéed new potatoes.

I’ll update you with recipes of interest during the week.

And of course I’ll be using all of my fabulous Pampered Chef Products. I have my own website where you can buy what you like visit it here.

Meal Planning Monday 20th February 2012

Mrs M set this up and I joined the party and I have to admit it not only is keeping me organised for dinners during the week but it’s also saving me money!

Meal Planning Monday

This week I don’t need much from the supermarket, but I am starting to put together my hospital bag for when I have baby (yes i know it’s 6 weeks yet, but you just never know) so I have put some of these things on my list too. I have decided also to try out Asda rather than Tesco this week, just to see if it really is cheaper.  I’ll let you know how that goes.

Monday – Chicken enchilada pizza, this is a Pampered Chef recipe that isn’t available on their website, so I can’t blog it, but it really is tasty. If you are interested in giving it a go, I can always come and do a show for you and your friends, just let me know.

Tuesday – Smoked mackerel pate and baked potatoes

Wednesday -Tacos & salad

Thursday – Pregnant Jools pasta – Jamie Oliver recipe but I’m afraid it’s not available on his website, so I wont be able to put it on here due to copyright but it’s in the 30 minute meals and it is amazing – hits all the spots!

Friday – Chicken Biryani

Saturday – Baked salmon with chilli sauce for G Man as I’m out with the girlies for an indian meal – Yippee Skippee!!

Sunday – Jamie Oliver’s steak ciabatta – again from 30 minute meals.

Apologies for all of the Jamie recipes, I’ve just got Sky+ and I have recorded them all and I’m working my way through them. What I would say is that if you just use the book, then you may struggle to do them in 30 minutes, but having watched the show too, I’ve picked up so many tips and I am confident that I might be able to attempt them in this time. I love his nice relaxed way of cooking – limited stress, even with baking :-)

I’ll update you with recipes of interest during the week.
