I cannot believe that it’s the end of April already! The nights are definintely lighter and it’s great for getting outside and doing some exercise. I used to run, but when I did my marathon back in 2004, it messed with my head and I haven’t really got back into running since then. Well, I am going to change that. I have been looking at apps, there are quite a few on the market, but these are the ones that others have been talking about:
- Couch to 5k – This is the one from the NHS website – you download the podcasts and listen to them
- Map My Run – This basically just maps and records your run and speed – good if you want to add in order exercise as a tracker
- Couch to 5K by Fitness22 – This was the first one I used and got me to running for 20 mins – I found it easy to use and as someone who was totally off running, I found it tough, but not so touch I gave up.
I am going to start this regular running with the app by Fitness22 – it talks to you while you are running as to when to start running, then stop to walk to get your fitness up. As an entry I’m thinking this is a good option.
My goal for the next 4 weeks is to get to running 5k – is that possible? I think it is as long as I actually do it!
I’d love to know what you think? Are there any other apps that keep you going? I’m so looking forward to getting out and about. But hoping no one sees me until I can actually get a bit of pace behind me. Nothing like being a sweaty lard arse when your neighbour drives passed and toots the horn!
